Splash New Row

What better way to start your vacation then getting a makeover to make you look and feel good. As we settled into our vacation mode, we did just that. All thanks to my wonderful and sweet friend, Selene.

At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve never heard the term, “blow out,” before. When she first told Ling and I that her daily ritual during vacation is to have a blow out, I wasn’t sure if I heard it right. Haha… Then it dawn on me that she meant going to a hair salon to get her hair wash and condition, and then a blow dry to the style she wants her hair to be. I think the last time I had my hair pampered was when I was getting married. When she told us this, we jumped on the bandwagon to have it done as well. Why not? It’ll be an exciting experience to have all of us join in on the fun!

We found a place in Covent Garden called Splash New Row. It had good reviews and ratings. At first, we weren’t sure if they do women’s hair until we spoke to the person at the front desk. They were able to take us right away, one at a time, since they weren’t busy.

Brias, the stylist, was working at that time. He was very thorough in washing and styling our hair. He was also very friendly and professional. Selene went first to get her hair straighten after it was washed, while I was toying with the idea of getting waves. Hoping it would suit my face.

When it was my time to get my hair done, I felt a bit awkward having someone taking the time to shampoo and condition my hair. Haha . . . I’m just not use to it. Brias did a great job on our hair. He took the time and care to style our hair in a way that we wanted. I was blown away with the results. The curls were so pretty. I was in love with it!

I was so happy to see myself in a mirror looking so completely different. I had to look twice to see if it was really me. Thank you, Selene, for documenting this precious experience. I will forever remember this day to remind myself that I should have more confidence in myself because I am worth it.
