London Affairs – Day 01

After our flight was delayed by two hours in Philly due to the technical failures with the air conditioner, we finally made it safely to London! The flight was smooth, so it was definitely enjoyable. I didn’t get much sleep since I was too excited for our vacation to start.

As we landed, we went through a long line in custom. I failed to identify myself on the kiosk, so I had to go through another line and wait to pass through custom. Once we picked up our luggages, we took a taxi to Citadines South Kensington, which is the place we are staying.

The apartment like hotel was surprising spacious with two floors. Very roomy with a living area and a small kitchen on the first floor, the bathroom and bedroom on the second. The location that we are staying is also quiet, but walking distance from the Hyde Park, restaurants, and convenient stores.

Instead of resting, we decided to quickly wash up and head out for food. We went to have some tea and food at Fait Maison, which was across the street from our hotel. Afterwards, we decided to take a walk through parts of Hyde Park to Harrods. It was so sunny and humid, we decided to take a break at the Kensington Palace before continuing our walk towards Harrods. The first thing I learned is that they do not believe in air conditioners, so the struggle was real among the crowds. Hehe… Once we reached to Harrods, it had just closed.

In the spur of the moment, we road on a bike taxi through the streets of London to to the hotel. It was definitely a fun and interesting experience. It also felt great to feel the breeze blowing at you since it was a hot day. Once we arrived at the hotel, we decided to stop by at Coco Momo for some light foods and drinks before we called it a night.

Our first day in London was adventurous and filled with decisions made in the moment. Already, I’m enjoying my time here. Looking forward to the coming days or more adventures and experiences.
